How to use zinc sulfate fertilizer in orchards?

Zinc is an indispensable trace element for maintaining the growth of fruit trees. In fruit tree planting, the application of zinc sulfate not only reduces elemental deficiencies in fruit trees, but also increases fruit tree yields.

Symptoms of zinc deficiency in fruit trees: Zinc-deficient fruit trees often show shortened internodes at the tops of branches, narrow and clustered leaves, few and small flowers, difficulty in setting fruits, deformed fruits, poor quality, weakened tree growth and even death of the entire tree.

As the age and yield of fruit trees increase, the zinc requirements of fruit trees increase, especially in sandy beaches, saline-alkali lands and orchards with extensive management.

To address the symptoms of zinc deficiency in fruit trees, the following measures can be taken:

 1. Apply zinc fertilizer to the soil. Combined with the application of base fertilizer and zinc fertilizer, generally 100-200 grams per tree for fruit trees that are 7-8 years old, and 250-300 grams for each tree that is 10 years old or above.

 2. Spray zinc sulfate outside the roots. Before the fruit trees sprout, spray 1~5% zinc sulfate solution on the whole tree, spray 0.1~0.4% zinc sulfate solution after the leaves unfold, and add 0.3% urea to achieve excellent results.

 3. Spray zinc ash liquid. The raw material ratio is zinc sulfate: quicklime: water = 1:2:240, and the configuration method is Bordeaux mixture.
